Street Portraits
Some of my first portraits were of complete strangers that I met at the inner harbor of Downtown Annapolis. I happened to be in the area dialing in my new Nikon camera body on the boats. In my focus to read the manual and find the settings I desired to modify a couple accidentally walked in front of me while I was doing a test exposure. The couple apologized profusely and next thing you know we started talking and I took their picture and sent it to them.
About a week later I received a thank you note by post from the couple stating that they hadn't had their picture taken in 10 years and that they had shared the image with their kids and grand kids. The wife of the couple showed her gratitude by hand water painting a thank you card to me. That touched me and made me realize how such a simple act could bring happiness to someone else.
So in that spirit I have created a "Street Portraits" section on my site. These images are free to download for desktop wallpaper usage and sharing with family. I only ask in return that if you would like a printed copy of this image that you purchase it through my website. Of course nothing will stop you from downloading the image and printing it yourself. However I ask you to consider that a portion of the proceeds from printing those images goes to paying the mortgage on my camera gear and making it possible for me to continue to offer these portraits free of charge. NO guilt, no bad voodoo just an honest appeal to help keep the Photographer for the People operational.
Images printed from this site will be printed without the Diesel Photo Works watermark. If you are going to download the images I ask that you do not remove or cover the watermark for my site as I need all of the promotion that I can get. Finally if you would like to hire me to shoot your event please do not hesitate to use my contact info on the HOME page of this site.
